Our Lady, Undoer of Knots
"May they live long, blessed lives together.
May they build a family
rooted in faith and unconditional love."
Heather and Ryan chose for their Wedding Mass Psalm:
Psalm 148:1-2,3-4,9-10,11-12,13-14Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the heights! Praise Him, all his angels, praise Him, all his host! praise Him, all you shining stars! Praise Him, you highest heavens and you waters above the heavens! Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars! Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and flying birds! Young men and maidens together, old men and children! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted; His glory is above earth and heaven. He has raised up a horn for His people, praise for all His saints, for the people of Israel who are near to Him. Praise the Lord!

Make the
Preparation
O Blessed Mother, who in submission to God,
lived a life of humility and service, visit me with your grace.
Through your intercession, instill in my heart
a love for all members of the human family,
Especially those whom I have the most trouble loving
and those whom I have the most trouble serving.
help me to untie the knots that bind your children on Earth.
Through
May I live according to your example
and be brought ever closer to your Son, Jesus.
Eighth Day
Praying for the Pope
I have linked his letter for the Year of the Consecrated Life for our advent reading. He calls us all to look to the past with thanksgiving, the present with passion and to the future with hope. John 21:15
"After they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, '
Simon, son of John,
do you love me more than these others do?'
'Yes, Lord,' he answered, 'you know that I love you.'
Jesus said to him, "Take care of my lambs.'"
Daily Intention
Queen of the Apostles and Mother of the Church,
I ask for your intercession on behalf of our Holy Father,
the Bishop or Rome.
Lead him ever closer to you and to your Son, Jesus.
Together with Saint Peter, loose whatever binding and knots
that can be found in the Church that would hinder our Holy Father
in his exercise of the Petrine ministry.
Guide him with your wisdom
and pray for God's blessings upon his pontificate.
Lastly, Mother, look into my heart and undo whatever
knots of irreverence and pride I have
concerning the Holy Father and teach me
to pray for him and for the Church.
Concluding Prayer
Powerful Mother who unties our knots,
hear these prayers and the prayers of all the faithful.
Intercede for my brothers and sisters, and with your influence,
loose the entanglements and knots which hold them captive.
Forgive the human race for its unbelief
and lead us all to faith in your Son, Jesus Christ the Lord.
Last of all, most Blessed Virgin, pray for me,
who is most in need of your grace and mercy.
Untie the knots in my own heart and in my own life,
and free me to love as Christ loves.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for us. |
Pope Francis' Prayer to Mary, Undoer of Knots
Holy Mary, full of God's presence during the days of your life,
you accepted with full humility the Father's will,
and the devil was never capable of tying you up with his confusion.
Once with your Son you interceded for our difficulties
and full of kindness and patience,
you gave us example of how to untie the knots of our life.
By remaining forever Our Mother,
you put in order and make more clear
the ties that link us to the Lord.
Holy Mother, Mother of God and our Mother,
to you who untie with a motherly heart the knots of our life,
we pray to you to receive in your hands,
the marriage of Heather and Ryan…
Through your grace, your intercession and your example,
deliver us from all evil, Our Lady,
and untie the knots that prevent us from being united with God,
so that we, free from sin and error, may find Him in all things,
may have our hearts placed in Him,
and may serve Him always in our brothers and sisters.
Amen.
